Welcome to Rob's Run. Initially online from 2005 to 2007, the site was relaunched when interest was shown after running presentations I gave in Australia early in 2012. All the elements are now up and running in this slightly altered format. The site will be updated regularly. Look for monthly changes on the News & Updates and Quacks & Quotes pages (May updates posted), and more frequent additions in Rob's Blog (answers to 'Shoes' and 'Injuries' questions have been added).

The old articles have been relinked under Writings. New ones (and a few more old ones) will be added irregularly.
Other pages may be included as feedback dictates or new needs arise.

This website is a vehicle for my thoughts on running. It will question your existing beliefs. The sequence of articles and other discussions will dissect the past, predict the future and initiate a new paradigm for human running.

I am no longer affiliated with clubs, camps, schools or academies. If coaches find a rare talent, and ride that talent to great success, they might naively lay claim to coaching expertise that does not exist. Working at my own pace in my own space, I wish to assist any individual who is intent on enriching their running experience. Rob's Run is simply an extension of that wish.

This site will test your patience. It is a library of experience, not a market place for running tidbits. If you wish to embark on a genuine running adventure, or illuminate a dimming one, this website can highlight the stepping-stones. Even with this guidance, your needs will only be fulfilled when the appropriate distance has been covered—there is no magic pill for running.

Rob's Run will threaten, challenge and stimulate, just like a race. As a coach, I am obliged to make an inspired comment before you begin. Instead of the emotional mind bomb 'Good luck', I prefer to send my athletes into battle with something more palpable ...

Hope it hurts!

Rob
